This summer, discover a new happy place at JEN Beijing’s immersive contemporary art exhibition, Summer Dopamine （10 Jul. to 31 Aug.) Often called the ‘feel good hormone’, dopamine is an organic chemical released in the brain when we do or see something that makes us feel good. Dopamine has been a major buzzword on the Chinese internet in recent months, usually tagged to posts with people dressing in bright colours and celebrating things that make them happy.

Curated by leading art platform Art ur Life, Summer Dopamine presents colourful, light-hearted artworks from six contemporary artists that inspire visitors to pursue happiness and healing. Find out more about the artists and their works below.

DDINGGU系列

李承九以“牛头梗”为创作原型是因为他觉得自己就是人群中的那一只“牛头梗”。不论在哪都有太多的社会形态、文化教育差异、世俗传统的条框在约束着它。

李承九创作的牛头梗，拥有人类的牙齿、动作和表情，将DDINGGU拟人化。希望DDINGGU成为自己心中向往的那个真实、勇敢、追求自由的他。听从自己内心的声音去生活！

作者介绍：

韩国著名雕塑家李承九曾留学德国，目前生活在北京。“夏日多巴胺”将包括他的DDINGGU系列中的几件雕塑，以一只顽皮的、像孩子一样的白色“牛头梗”为自己的创作原型。

Lee Seungkoo Korean sculptor Lee Seungkoo studied in Germany and his lived in Beijing for many years. Summer Dopamine will include several sculptures from his Ddinggu series, based around a mischievous, child-like white bull terrier.

《TAO》 桃花园系列

古埃及传说“猫神芭丝特的魔法镜”，认为在镜中可映出人内心的姿态。猫的鲜艳和萌纯以及难以捉摸，可能印证的正是人内心的斑斓、希冀和神秘。

《仲夏夜之梦》

《仲夏夜之梦》取材于英国剧作家威廉莎士比亚同名代表作。“疯子、情人、诗人都是想象的产儿”。

作者介绍：

聂竞竹出生于北京，毕业于中央美术学院。艺术展将展出她的几件色彩鲜艳的雕塑艺术作品，包括以“喵”为主题形象的金色和亮粉色的桃花园TAO

Nie Jingzhu Born in Beijing, Nie Jingzhu graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Art. Summer Dopamine will feature several of her colourful resin sculptures, including the bright pink TAO, which takes the form of a traditional lucky cat.

《快乐小猪的郁金香花园》

秦玮鸿的作品营造了一个幻想的世界，童年时想象中的朋友们是各种五颜六色的小雕像。他曾在国内外美术馆、画廊等多次举办个人展览，并刊登在《纽约时报》和《艺术芭莎》等各大时尚杂志。

Qin Weihong’s works cultivate a world of fantasy, with childhood imaginary friends manifested as colourful figurines. He has held solo exhibitions in China and abroad and has been featured in publications like the New York Times and Art Bazaar.

《DEMI 兔》

RODEO ART致力于打造成为全球最大的潮流艺术厂牌，于全球知名拍卖行、 艺术家、设计师共同孵化，运营及推广艺术作品。本次展会展出的DEMI兔系列作品。

Rodeo Art is committed to becoming the world's largest trendy art brand, incubating, operating, and promoting art works with globally renowned auction houses, artists, and designers. Summer Dopamine will feature Rodeo Art’s DEMI, a bright pink rabbit.

《水中人》

冯蕤在《水中人》这个系列选用了水的意向来象征当前的社会环境与女性的生存状态，利用不同的姿态和身体的节奏美感，以及不同动作在水中的漂浮形态，表现女性在社会洪流中的自信和淡然。对人物的造型和姿态进行写实到抽象再到写实的艺术转变，展现了"她"内心火焰般的热烈和勇敢。

Feng Rui graduated from the Oil Painting Department of Central Academy of Fine Arts and studied under famous artist Yu Hong. Her Water Man series of oil paintings vividly evokes the feeling of diving into a cool swimming pool in the height of summer.

熊猫系列

许京甫是国内最具有影响力IP艺术家之一。其治愈系作品风格深受喜爱。他将熊猫人格化的内容注入其中，让人用不同的视角去重现审视身边熟悉的事物。让人懂得了给予和陪伴的意义，从此不再孤独，变得安静而丰盛。

One of the most influential IP artists in China, Xu Jingfu creates works featuring anthropomorphised pandas, taking our day-to-day lives and reflecting them back at us in a new, playful light.
